Maybe Sri Lankan Cricket team Should Defend the Country.

As any citizen supposes to do, I support our military no matter what.
We civilians may not the best supporters, I know we cannot afford best
infrastructure our military need, but we do our best. We scarify our education
budget, healthcare budget, we pay double the price for petrol, and we do best as
we can. But at the end of the day is Sri Lankan military doing their
best?
I'm not a military analyst or an expert. I'm an average Joe (or
rather 'average Siripala' in this case). But I know our military did not
bring us any significant victory in my life time, except victory over
JVP boys some time back. Meanwhile our cricket team won the world cup
and beat Australia by 7 wickets. I say 7 dam wickets! I can say I'm
proud of our cricket team anytime, anywhere. And I'm. And I do.
But can I say same about our military too? Not very likely. I'm not
underestimating the sacrifices our military make everyday - I'm grateful for all
that - but those sacrifices should not just a waste - there should be results
worth enough those sacrifices.
We are not fighting with another army, not with another country. Our
military is struggling with bunch of boys and children. They even don't
have real officers. Officers rank themselves front of privates who happened to
be kidnapped children.
But Sri Lankan military is nothing like that. It is a properly organized army.
We have real officers. Our officers have legal age privates. Even some times our
privates works as servants in our officer's houses, take children to school,
drive the madam to beauty salon. With all that luxury, our military is
struggling with bunch boys for 14 dam years! Boy's commander-in-chief getting
fat every day - Sri Lankan military even not able to hurt his pinky!
But our military lost one commander-in-chief and almost lost another one.
In other hand our cricket team sends India home by 69 runs.
How many our Generals go home for poor performance so far?
The bottom line is SL Army was not able to protect the land from bunch of boys
for last 14 years even though this is a tiny island one can walk up to down in
two weeks. The conflict area is little more than couple of days walk for
Infantry. Nothing I can be proud of on the sea too. Now for the first time, our
military even fail to defense sky. Mind you, all this is against bunch of boys
and children.
I saw in
'The Defense Blog' Indunil said 'thanks God our fighter aircrafts are safe'.
How come our military come in to a point, we civilians have to thanks
God for the safely of our military equipments?
Why our Cricket Team is Better than Our Military?

Look sam. The pussies failed to complete their mission, which was to destroy our jets. They dropped deadweight to kill 3 soldiers. That's it. We kill hundreds of them every week.
SL military is doing their best. And it's working.
LTTE's attack has no real military implications. It's a psy-op. People like you are the real victims of this attack.

Indeed! I'm a victim of this - I'm an average person. That is exactly my point.
I don't think this single Air Attack is important compared to others, at all. It is relatively simple attack with small damage. I do not give what so ever value to this one, except historical value.
But I'm not happy about it. I'm not happy because LTTE is militarily INFERIOR to our military and still our military fail to show their superiority. I don't think letting them go back after the attack is best any military can do. Looks like Jets are safe not because we have done something about it, but because of pure luck. (Please tell me I'm wrong) For me it is sound more like LTTE attack a Salvation Army base and alter is safe because they missed.

Umm... our military fails to show its superiority? How did they chase the pussies out of Sampur and Vakarai then? They are making headway in Toppigala as we speak.
This attack was just a one off show for the diaspora. It's not going to happen again.
